08 — Technical comparison

Why an FPGA, not a PC in the rack

This is the question every technical buyer asks. Here is the honest comparison against a PC or GPU-based processor, in the terms that matter for an unattended wall.

10 — How the quotation works

Three steps from enquiry to delivery

A B2B enquiry should never turn into a price fight. Send the requirement once; we do the engineering and return a complete, quotable configuration.

Step 01

You describe the wall

Wall size in rows × columns, panel resolution, number of sources and their interfaces, control preference, application and delivery country. A drawing is ideal but a description is enough to start.

Step 02

We return the configuration

Within one business day you receive the recommended model, an input/output list, the wall configuration, available options and a firm sample price with the quotation.

Step 03

Sample, then volume

Order a sample unit to validate in your own room, or move straight to project quantity. Partner and distributor pricing applies from the first repeat order.

Who answers your enquiry — a factory, not a trading company. The same engineers who specify a system also build it and support it in the field. FPGA pipelines, circuit boards and firmware are developed in-house, production runs under an ISO 9001 quality system, and every unit is burn-in tested for 72 hours before it leaves the building.

11 — FAQ

Technical and commercial questions

Everything below is answered from our published specifications. If something is missing, ask it in the form — we answer within one business day.

What does a video wall controller actually do?
A video wall controller receives multiple video sources and distributes, scales and arranges them across an array of displays, handling seamless source switching, windowing such as picture-in-picture, per-panel bezel correction and splicing of the wall into one continuous canvas. BITVISUS units perform this in FPGA hardware, so results are deterministic and frame-accurate and no PC is required.
What is the difference between FPGA and PC-based video wall processors?
An FPGA processor handles video in hardware in real time with effectively zero latency and no operating system that can crash, which is why it is specified for 24/7 control rooms. PC or GPU based stacks introduce software latency, boot time and extra failure points under continuous load. BITVISUS flagship controllers are built on a 28nm high-end FPGA with full-hardware real-time processing.
Which BITVISUS model fits my video wall?
For a 2 × 2 or smaller wall, the BIT-MSE-8K-204HD with 2 DP inputs and 4 HDMI outputs is enough. For a matrix wall up to 12 × 12, the BIT-VWC-MS1212Ma provides 12 HDMI in and 12 HDMI out at 4K60. For large modular walls, the BIT-VWC-8K60-427Max accepts 5 channels of 8K60 and drives up to 27 HDMI outputs with M × N splicing. For command-center walls specified as 4 in and 16 out, the 8K60 DP HDMI controller covers that configuration. Send your wall drawing and we will confirm the model.
Which resolutions and interfaces are supported?
Maximum input resolution is 7680 × 4320 at 60Hz, that is 8K60, with HDCP 2.3 and a maximum pixel canvas of 8192 × 8192. Single-panel output is 1920 × 1080 at 60Hz or 1920 × 1200 at 60Hz. On the flagship input card the connectors are HDMI 2.1 ×2, DisplayPort 2.1 ×2 and USB Type-C ×1. The compact BIT-MSE-8K-204HD uses 2 DisplayPort inputs with HDCP 2.2 and 4 HDMI outputs, and can drive 7680 × 4320 at 30Hz as a 2 × 2 splice.
Can these controllers run continuously in a control room?
Yes. The units are built on industrial 6-layer PCBs with 16KV ESD protection and conduction cooling, and are rated for stable continuous operation with a working temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. The compact MSE-series units are fanless by design. Selected models carry a 1-year warranty.
How are sources switched and the system controlled?
Switching is seamless among the connected sources, with multi-picture modes for single, dual picture-in-picture, triple and quad layouts, including up to 5 × 8K60 switching or 2 × 8K60 plus 2 × 4K60 in quad mode. Control is by web interface over LAN from Windows, Android, iOS, macOS, Linux or HarmonyOS, by RS232 for central control, or from the front panel. HDMI CEC linkage, per-channel bezel adjustment, DHCP or static IP and an open API and SDK for secondary development are supported.
Will the wall stay in sync with no tearing or dropped frames?
Yes. All outputs are synchronized so there is no tearing and no frame drop, and splicing is point-to-point M × N with no stretching and no deformation. Wall layouts include 1 × N up to 27, 2 × N up to 13, 3 × N up to 9, 4 × N up to 6, 5 × N up to 5, 6 × N up to 4, 7 × N up to 3, 8 × N up to 3 and 9 × N up to 3.
Do you supply OEM, ODM and custom configurations?
Yes. The modular plug-in card architecture means input and output cards can be configured for a specific wall, and we support OEM and ODM programs, private label and branding for system integrators and distributors, and volume supply for project deployments.
What are the warranty, lead time and shipping terms?
Products carry a 1-year warranty and ship worldwide, with US, EU, UK and AU plug variants available on the compact controllers. Sample units, project quantities and partner volume pricing are all available and confirmed in the quotation. We reply to enquiries within one business day with model selection, an I/O list and pricing.
What information do you need in order to quote?
The useful details are the wall size in rows by columns, the native panel resolution, how many sources and which interface types they use, how the wall is controlled, the application, and the delivery country. With those we return a model recommendation, an input and output list, a wall configuration drawing and sample pricing.
