what is Projection Mapping?

Projection mapping is a technique used to project images onto a physical surface, such as a building or an object. It involves using specialized software and hardware to create the illusion of depth and movement, allowing for the creation of dynamic and immersive visual displays. The technology has a wide range of applications, including live performances, architectural projections, advertising campaigns, and more. In order to create a projection mapping system, one must first choose the appropriate equipment, such as projectors, computers, and other hardware, and then calibrate and test the system to ensure it is working properly. This can be a complex process, but the end result can be truly breathtaking and can add a unique and dynamic element to any event or environment.

Museum building projection mapping

The aim of this project was to create an immersive and engaging visual experience on the surface of a building using projection mapping technology. Through the use of specialized equipment and software, we will be able to project high-resolution images and videos onto the building's surface, creating the illusion of three-dimensional objects and scenes. By carefully aligning the projections with the building's unique architecture and design, we will be able to create captivating experiences that seamlessly blend the digital and physical worlds. This project will showcase the incredible potential of 3D projection mapping as a medium for artistic expression and storytelling, and will provide audiences with a truly unique and unforgettable experience. In the following sections, we will outline the steps involved in building a 3D projection mapping system, from choosing the appropriate equipment to calibrating and testing the final product.

How to connect Six projectors to one computer and build the project for projection mapping?

This solution uses a PC as the input source and uses projection mapping software for edge blending and HD source processing and projection, using our BIT-MSE-4K60-104Pro 4K HD video wall controller to connect multiple projections to a single PC so that only one PC with a graphics card can be used as the input source. Device requirements: one PC with GTX3050 graphics card, two BIT-MSE-4K60-104Pro. For the extended graphics card interface, each device connects three projectors so that the projection of the three projectors are combined into one image, each group of projectors can reach a maximum resolution of 3x1920x1200 i.e. 5760x1200 The total resolution can reach a maximum of 6x1920x1200 i.e. 11520x1200 Since the projectors are far away from the PC, about 120M distance, we need to connect each projector to an HDMI extender BIT-EX-HDBT-150-KVM. We need to connect each projector to an HDMI extender BIT-EX-HDBT-150-KVM. of course, it is indispensable to have a projection lens to ensure sufficient brightness and clarity even at a distance. With the BIT-MSE-4K60-104Pro, connecting two groups of projectors to a single computer, the workload of commissioning is greatly reduced and project costs can be effectively reduced. the MSE series video wall processor is an essential part to meet the project requirements. After all the machines are set up, projection mapping software is used for projection correction and debugging, and then special sources are played for debugging, and finally the final effect test is performed. One of the most important steps in the implementation of the project is to use a projection mapping software that is faster and easier to use with after-sales technical guidance to perform the set up work.

The advantages of a good projection mapping software for projection alignment and solution building

One of the main advantages of using good projection mapping software is that it allows for precise and accurate calibration of the projection system. This is important because it ensures that the projected image fits the surface it is being projected onto in a seamless and convincing way.

A good projection mapping software will also have a user-friendly interface, which makes it easy for operators to control the projected content and create dynamic, interactive experiences. This can be particularly useful in on-site projects, where time and resources may be limited, and the ability to quickly and easily set up and adjust the projection mapping system is crucial.

In addition, good projection mapping software will offer a range of advanced features that can help users to create more complex and sophisticated projections. These include support for multiple projectors, the ability to map onto irregularly-shaped surfaces, and the ability to create 3D effects and animations. A good projection mapping software can greatly enhance the quality and effectiveness of a projection mapping project, making it easier to create impressive and engaging visual experiences.

Of course the most important thing is that there is professional after-sales technical guidance to help you achieve your project needs.

scene video

As visitors approach the building, they will see it come alive with stunning visual projections that create the illusion of three-dimensional objects and scenes. These projections will be carefully aligned with the building's architecture and design, creating a seamless blend of the digital and physical worlds. Visitors will be able to walk around the building and view the projections from different angles, each offering a unique perspective on the immersive experience. By the end of their visit, visitors will have been transported into a world of imagination and wonder, thanks to the captivating power of 3D projection mapping.
